Przewodnik Malaga - Gibralfaro

Without this place, I cannot imagine Malaga and when I always think about it, this is the view I have before my eyes. Of course, I am talking about an obligatory point  every visit to Málaga - Mirador del Gibralfaro.

You can enter the Gibralfaro viewpoint from two sides - from the Alcazba (to the right of the entrance) or through the rose park located on the other side of the Port . The ascent may seem steep and frightening, nothing could be further from the truth. A slow walk will reach the top in about 20 / max 30 minutes. However, I do not recommend older people to go up in the heat, because in the middle of the day the road can seem doubly tiring and it is best to go in the evening, when the temperatures are lower. The best moment - in my opinion - is of course the sunset. The view of the Cathedral , the city and the port is then breathtaking.

Mirador del Gibraflaro is a stopover to the na  131 m above sea level. The Castle of Gibralfaro (Castillo de Gibralfaro). Built in the 14th century. he acted  defensive functions of the older Alcazaba fortress located at the foot of the mountain. What is more, after the Catholic Kings of Malaga conquered the castle, it became their residence, and then it became their home  military role until 1925. The castle is open to tourists, inside you can admire the military museum, the history of the castle and see the city  from the ramparts.

Castillo de Gibraflaro is open in winter from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. and during the summer  until 20.00. Ticket price € 2.20, combined entry tickets Alcazaba + Gibralfaro € 3.55  Nevertheless, I recommend visiting the castle for free, every Sunday.

The lookout point is by far my favorite spot in Málaga ... my place ... so if you ever look for me I will probably be right here  :) at sunset, take a millionth shot of the view that I love (views from the viewpoint next to it).

Don't miss it! This is where My Málaga is located <3
